Bio
Jean Kennedy grew up in Louisville, Alabama and is a graduated from the Louisville High School. She continued her education by attending Alabama State University and completed her degree in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Jean’s passion for children and desire to help them reach their highest potential inspired her to run for a position on the Barbour County Board of Education. She presently has the privilege of serving the people of District 4 on the Barbour County Board of Education. This school district holds an incredibly special place in her heart being she is an immensely proud alumni of the Barbour County School System. Jean is well equipped with the skills necessary to help improve the Barbour County School System in keeping ALL children first. Her work experience includes a thirty (30) year career in social service working for the Alabama Department of Human Resource. Jean currently serves as the Advisor to the Eternal Happiness Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving Barbour and Pike Counties. She is also a member of the Guilford Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, the Troy Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,Incorporated, Montgomery Alabama Capitol Section (MAC)National Council of Negro Women (NCNW, )and a member of Northview Christian Church, Dothan, Alabama. Jean’s personal philosophy prioritizes serving others, making the most out of available opportunities and making great contributions to society.
